H2 IS NOT canceled! Read the article.
Did anyone actually read what the article says:
"With the popular changes made to the 2008 MY, we expect to sell the H2 for the foreseeable future, and will continue to make enhancements to the current generation to keep it relevant in its niche of the market. "
In other words the H2 isnt going to be canceled, or production stoped. They just stoped work on the re-design. They will continue to sell the H2, so why does everyone keep saying its canceled?!
Sorry guys....dont expect resale to skyrocket like the H1 that was really discontinued.

Re: H2 IS NOT canceled! Read the article.
As of right now, the information we've been given is that the H2 update has been put on hold indefinitely.
When people say it's "cancelled", they mean the next gen version. The current version probably has a lifespan of about 6 years max, if it's lucky...
Everything depends on if GM has the balls to stick with the brand and let their engineers and designers work their magic to create the best HUMMER possible, one that can be efficient yet still remain capable.
However, it's all about pleasing their shareholders, if the majority of the shareholders are face-value observing mental midgets, then you can probably bet HUMMER won't be a GM brand for long. Same goes for pickup's, and large SUV's like the Yukon, Escalade, Suburban...

Well hummer doesnt realy do well with next generations. Look at the H1 its been the same all its life. Sure it got a few little changes and a big motor change in 06 but all in all its never realy changed. I hope the h2's never change i mean sure as times change they should replace engines but as far as overall design i dont see them ever changing that.

The H1 is a different beast, it's a pure military vehicle made into a civilian one.
The H2 on the other hand could benefit from some nice updating. Imagine an H2 that's engineered closer to how the H1 was engineered...

Yeh that would be nice but in todays times i think the h2 would be designed to be more green than to be more like the h1.

U.S.News & World Report
Cars Hurt Most by $4 Gas
Tuesday June 10, 1:26 pm ET
By Rick Newman
Call it the revenge of the little guys. With gas prices officially cresting $4--and running higher in many parts of the country--American drivers are finally downsizing in big numbers. Overall auto sales are down about 8 percent so far this year--but sales of large cars and trucks have plunged 23 percent, according to J.D. Power & Associates. There's no mystery behind the shift: Buyers clearly believe high gas prices are here to stay, and are desperate to cut their gas bills.
Among the cars piling up on dealer lots, here are some of the biggest losers:
Hummer. Sierra Clubers can go ahead and cheer: Hummer sales are down by 36 percent so far this year, the biggest drop among a single brand. Sales of the smallest Hummer--the H3, which averages about 15 mpg--have fallen even more than the brawnier H2, which gets a meager 10 mpg or so. Consider some painful Hummer math: With gas at $4, it costs about $120 to fill the tank of an H2, and then you can only go about 300 miles before forking over another $120. No wonder General Motors is considering offloading the whole division.

GM puts brakes on SUV, truck redesigns:
report Thu Jun 19, 1:34 AM ET
NEW YORK (Reuters) - General Motors Corp (GM.N) is postponing redesigning its SUVs and full-sized trucks as it shifts its product portfolio toward more fuel-efficient vehicles, the Wall Street Journal reported in its online edition on Thursday.
GM spokesman Tom Wilkinson told the newspaper the car maker was "looking at the whole product portfolio," and deciding how to supply the U.S. market with more fuel-efficient cars.
GM will extend the life cycle of its current line-up of pickup trucks and SUVs, including the Cadillac Escalade SUV and the Chevrolet Silverado pickup.
New designs of GM trucks and SUVs had not been expected to be released until at least 2012, the newspaper said.
GM also has considered cancelling one future Hummer SUV product and shutting down another brand, the paper said, citing people briefed on its strategy.
Shares in automakers stumbled on Wednesday as investors reacted to a further slowdown in June auto sales and uncertainty about when the industry will bottom.
Consumers have pulled back on auto purchases -- especially larger SUVs and trucks -- as U.S. gasoline prices moved above $4 per gallon.

Aw man i was hoping that the Native American's would get to buy hummer sooner. I think the GM should sell the whole brand to the Native American's. Then they could drive to their Casinos in style.
