Right Equipment?
Finally going to get the H2 lifted and upgrade some of the hardware underneath. After researching the forums and other information, I have decided on getting the Rancho lift and shocks, Cognito tie rod and pitman and idler arm support kit. Of course some Rockstar and tires. Any other items that I should look into or suggestions? Anyone know some good installation places in West Texas or East New Mexico? I would do it myself, but don't have the time right now or resources. Thanks

Re: Right Equipment?
Look into upgraded tie rods other than Cognito. I have Cognito, but I understand Kryptonite, Rare Parts, and some others might be stronger. Also might want to check your hubs at this time.

Re: Right Equipment?
Good call. I meant Kryptonite, I just had Cognito on my mind from everything I've read. I'm approaching that 100k mile mark, so I'm going to everything inspected as well. There is something broken or on the verge I'm sure. And I'll finally be swapping out the air bags for springs.

Re: Right Equipment?
My Kryptonites arrived yesterday; they really make my Cognitos look like junk. These tie rods are hard core!

Re: Right Equipment?
How long did it take to get the Kryptonite's? I've had my Congito's on for a few years now, and they might be worn...at least that's what I'll tell myself when I'm ordering the Kryptonite's.

Re: Right Equipment?
7 days. My Cognitos are shot...30,000 miles and a lot of wiggle. The dealer couldn't even do an alignment.

Re: Right Equipment?
Is there anything special involved in changing from Cognito's to Kryptonite's? Can you notice a difference in driving?

Re: Right Equipment?
I'm getting them installed tomorrow. I'll report back...since my Cogs are wearing badly I'm expecting it to be a bit more firm. We'll see...

They bolt right up to stock equipment. The steering is phenomenally better; prolly because my Cognitos had worn and the steering had gone sloppy. The steering is firm and tight, no more creaks and groans when I turn the wheel.
Now I just need to get them as dirty as the rest of the parts.

Re: Right Equipment?
Thank you for the info. Did you get an alignment after install?
