I almost got broken into.
Just read a post about someone that had their wheels ripped off. It made me think how lucky I was last night.
We went and bought a flat screen tv for our daughter since we're redoing her room. While I was there, I picked up a new pressure washer for home... just a cheap karcher but nonetheless, brand new sitting in the box in the back of the H2.
On the way home, we stopped at a Steak and Shake to grab a bite to eat. We walked to the entrance and the smell of steak from the Lone Star next door was overwhelming... all of a sudden, I wanted a STEAK and not a freakin' burger.
I hate this side of town but this store was the only one that had that particular tv on sale.
We walked back to the truck and the girls decided to walk over while I parked the truck in Lone Star's parking lot.
I scanned the lot and saw there were 3-4 empty spots next to an F-150 that I could park my H2 so it wouldn't get dinged up.
I wasn't really into parking that far back for security reasons but it was either there or behind the building.
So I started the truck up, looked over and shook my head... nope, ain't gonna happen. Steak and Shake's just gonna have to deal with my truck where it is.
So I walk over to Lone Stars and go in.
About half way through the meal, our waitress comes over and says, "damn, not again"
I said excuse me, what happened?
She proceeds to tell me that another vehicle got broken into for the 3rd time within a day or so. Did I tell ya I hate this side of town???
So I go outside, get in the H2 and drive it to Lone Star's parking lot and PULL RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE DOORS COVERING A HANDICAPPED SPOT.
There were 5-6 handicapped spots and not one of them were being used. The girl at the front desk said if it were her, that's where she would park. She said go ahead and I'll watch out for it.
I looked over to see which vehicle got broken into... YUP, you guessed it, that F-150 I was going to park next to.
Talk about being in the right place at the right time.
Between the brand new flatscreen, pressure washer, stereos, tv screens, cameras, dvd players, my gun and checkbook, they could have had a hayday.
Got lucky this time....
