Default Newbie Pics w/questions

Hey new to the forums, i have had my 07 H3 Adventure for about 4 months and love. My one question is turned my t-bars about 3.5 turns and see 2-2mpg decrease for the past three tanks, is this normal for turning them or do i need alignment to fix it? The truck drives straight and no abnormal tire wear so far.

Thanks

Chris

I think that you're definitely supposed to get alignment when you crank torsion bars. I wasn't aware that it would impact the mileage though. Oh, you've got very nice vehicle; 5-speed adventure is what I should've bought instead of 4-speed regular.

I went to a local shop to see if they could do the alignment and come to find out them nor the shop next door had specs on an 06 or 07, i dont want to go to the dealer, they probably won't be too happy with the bars cranked. Also it did get about 30 degrees cooler outside since I did it right around the end of Nov, but i dont see that having an effect. I get exactly 16mpg now, i could get 18 or 19 before.

id be really happy if i got 16 constantly. Could be the way your driving it, and check the tire pressure. if the temp dropped 30 degrees the tire pressure defintly changed. and anytime you do something to the suspension or anything that has an remote effect on the wheels its in best intrest to get an alignment.

My first 2 tanks of gas I got about 17 to 17.5 mpg with 06 adv auto with wilderness roof rack, then turned t-bars and added highlift + pull pall to the roof and added winch now on a great day get 16 but 15.5 on average not sure if it was changing the profile of the truck(take a tilted brick and set it straight making it less aerodynamic) or all the extra weight and increased roof drag with the extra gear. probably a little of both since I had the roof basket off a short time for roof plastic replacement and seemed to go a little further on a tank of gas. btw, nice truck

Thats what I was afraid of, is maybe the front is tilted for fuel mileage.... oh well honestly if thats the case Im not too worried, it looks better and feels bigger when driving

no no you must get an alignment!!
just done mine with my cousin who has an alignment shop and when we put it on the jig(after cranking t bars) the wheels were pointing inwards this is probably why you are getting bad mpg!
i did mine 3.5 turns and cognitos my 07 h3 adv is couple months old so similar situation to yours!
hummer expert was kind enough to forward the specs for my RHD so you should find specs on this site!

Mine is turned 5 times to nearly level and compinsate for the weight of the winch, I have gotten the alignment but still lower mpg, another thought could be the increased angle on the front shafts and cv's could be adding friction on the drivetrain makeing it work a little harder( just throwing things around ) heres my ride

Look closely at the front license plate, you can see the rollers behind it, I could use a good wench for it, just want one for free this time , I've been a sugar daddy once waay too expensive I want some free love
