Kansas and Misery
I was off to an Army training to Ft Leavenworth. NOt much around there but we got there for the Ice. The ice storm had hit and ended the day prior. Enterprise had rented over 50 cars to us. It took us 30 minutes in 2 degree weather to chip the ice away from the locks and around the door edges to get in. Once in the car, the ice was so think you could not scrap it away. Muliply that over and over for 50 cars, and did i mention it was 2 degrees. we finally had the ice melt and chipped so we could drive to the hotel and it was a full 3 days before all the ice was gone from the windows.
It finally went to 10 degrees on the 4th day there and it snowed 6 inches, and I learned Missouri does not scrap the roads, salt the roads, or pre treat the road, until the snow stops due to budget constraints according to the locals.
There was a sweet orange H2 staying at the hotel, nice couple from Idaho who were drivig across country to see a new grand baby. Even they decided to stay a few days until the roads cleared up some.
SO glad to be back in PA so i could play with my 3 in the 6 inches of snow we got today. It is nice to have confidence that I can get home with out worry from work.

Re: Kansas and Misery
I forgot to post, We went and had a small talk with the big bosses and i took all my documentation with me. They decided that it was time to promote me, gave her a counseling for and warning, I am in a new unit, a more challenging position, about a $400 a month pay raise. OH I forgot one detail I had my friend, an attorney, come with me to "clarify" any concerns. I still feel bad for my workers but not bad enought to stick around, It is open season for any one wanting her email now
