What kind are you using now? The shields come with the Frost King tape that works great but I can't find it anymore and their web site doesn't list it.

http://www.frostking.com/gutterproducts.php

Dennis, are you still using Sure Tape? If so, who makes it, I tried to Google it?

I was thinking about trying to find this:
http://products3.3m.com/catalog/us/e...er/output_html
Maybe this:
http://doityourself.com/store/weathersealtape.htm

However, this may be the best:
http://doityourself.com/store/6012801.htm

Oh, It doesn't seem to be on Home Depot's web site either.

Alright rookie in an Guru suit! Do a search, and you will get all you want on magnetic shield tape!

I'm surprised Seth or Phil have not jumped on this one yet!

I did search and all the frost king stuff has been talked about. So has the famous "quake" tape jokes and history lessons.

Seth, are you still using your special tape. Have you located it elsewhere since you remarked Walmart was dicontinuing it?

Dennis, are you still using Sure Tape? Who makes it as I Googled it prior to asking and it did not come up?

I did search, BTW, that's why I am asking.

This is the thread I didn't want to bring up, so don't click on it!

Some things may have changed on the Tape Front since March '04. Just checking with everyone if a new and improved tape is out there yet.

Did I mention that I did search, which is why I asked the questions the way I did.

Try this stuff:
3M Painter's tape
It won't leave any residue.

There's a tape in the glass industry specially used for holding windshield replacements so you can drive around while it drys.

It's called STORM tape.

Like vynil with crazy glue. It's bloody strong and leaves zero residue. It's expensive($6CAN/Roll), but it's worth it. I always keep a case or two in the garage.

I think so Ken. The ones we carry are red and blue. Very flexable and extremely sticky. But not cheap sticky like in your pants . The adhesive is high quality and never leaves residue on any surface I've tried(And I've used it almost everywhere).

Cases? CASES? I can get you a deal on cases of bailing wire and probably some chewing gum to go with it.

You can buy the Frost King (or similar tape) through Truck Shields (http://www.truckshields.com). They don't list it on their website, but all I did was email them, told them I needed more tape like the kind that came with the shields, and they sold me as much as I needed. I think it's $3.50 a roll, but the price comes down the more you buy (I think mine dropped to $2.50 with 15 rolls). Easy source and fast shipping.

I'd avoid the Duck tape search. It's great tape, but it's not worth the hunt around town, and you can't order from them direct. I checked every store listed in their website for my area and no one seems to carry it anymore. Very annoying and time consuming.

Once again - AVOID DUCT TAPE. 8 months later, I'm STILL finding residue on my truck, despite having gone over the dang thing with Goo Gone multiple times. Shields did stick tho!

Ken, my local HD has cases of it. You want me to pick you up a couple rolls & bring it to Paragon?

Thanks for the warning Stacy.

Dan, yes. Several rolls would be great.
