i am unable to lock the rear doors and tailgate of my 2005 H2. the rear doors will only lock manually
neither the front doors or key fob will lock them. i can only open the doors with the front switches and key fob. does anyone have a clue of what's going on and how to fix this. please i don't want to go to the dealership if i don't have to.

I am currently having an intermittent problem with the same type of thing myself right now. My FOB and front switches won't UNLOCK my rear passenger area doors or the tailgate. Stops working one day, as soon as I get to the dealer it works fine. They say "Can't fix whats not broke". Driving me CRAZY!!

Check behind passenger side panel on the side of the dash where the fuse panel is on the drivers side. There are some connectors there that may be loose or have backed out terminals.

Look in your owners manual at the fuse box next to the instrument panel inside the driver's side door. There is a relay for the rear locks. Take an identical relay from another location and replace it and see if that works your locks.

Sounds as if the relay is bad.

You sound like you have a wire that's not fully into the connector or something. It might be on the rear of the fuse box in the I/P. I'm not aware of a relay being intermittent.

door locks are working.. here is what it says on my invoice:

17443 TAILGATE LOCK RELAY NOT WORKING CHECKED TAIL GATE LOCK ASSY
OPERATION. REMOVED TAIL GATE INTERIOR PANEL AND CHECKED ACTUATOR
TRACED PROBLEM TO RELAY IN IP RENEW RELAY, OK NOW
****************
I wanted to talk to the service advisor but he wasn't around when I picked up my truck. I'm going to call him tomorrow to ask what this all means. Everything thing seems ok except right license plate bulb is not working.

It's the relay I was referring to in my prior post to your problem. Just shows how things get FUBAR'd between you and the service tech though. Apparently all he got was that the tailgate lock didn't work. If he had known both the tailgate and rear doors didn't work, he wouldn't have worked on the tailgate first and would have gone straight to the relay. He did things backwards instead.
