I have seem other older h2 without antenna's..now my 05 has one? Why do some have it and some dont? Not talking about the XM antenna....just the standard radio antenna. Thanks

the radio antenna on the'03 is located on the passenger side of the roof and I actually like it in that location better than mounted on the front fender like the '05 models.

I happen to like the '05 location and antenna better... probably because reception in my '03 was crap! (I attribute that to the antenna, itself, not the location...)

I agree, it's a pretty funky location for an antenna especially when driving through brush.

Cut it shorter. Worked well for others in this thread.

A few years ago I read that for the best FM radio reception, the car aerial had to be of a certain length -- -- no more and no less. At that time, I adjusted my car's telescoping aerial to that length and the FM was perfect. To my eye, that looks about the length of the aerial on my 05 H2. My FM reception is perfect.

LoLo points out above that the reception on his 05 H2 is much better than on his 03 with the other antenna. The GM engineers are a pretty smart bunch of boys and girls. I will bet you they made the changes for the reasons discussed above. I wouldn't (and I won't) fool around with it.
