I thought about that & it shouldn't be difficult depending on what you want to accomplish. The only real usable space of course is the storage/lid. If you didn't need the cup holders (I do for my perpetual coffee} you could do some cool things there. Otherwise, it's the lid. You could mount rockers & other switches. I also thought about taking the front 1/3 or so of the lid & fabricating a glass hinged cover with switches under. Just flip up the glass & switch. Just some thoughts that might help.

I was going to recommend Jonahs overhead console but, He got to it. John at HGW did some neat things with chromed billet in the cup area of the console for His SC gauges. But, I'm like Jonahs I got have a place to put My soda pop.
I'm usng Jonhas design it leaves the other areas for what they were intended.

Thank you both.
I am a caffeine addict of both the heated beverage type as well as the diet carbonated beverage type, so I'm in sync with you both.
I was hoping someone with a customized center console photos might reply.
Jonahs, you know what I'm looking for (you've seen the switchplste photos).

But if it were me I would fabricate a nice smoked glass hinged cover to go over it. You could recess that so you still have the use of the lid to set things on. You could also put some real cool lighting under the smoked glass for night time. Would look very sharp done right.
