f5fStop, or anyone, can you help?
My installer asked if I could provide him the:
1. Full Range output of the Monsoon Amp
2. The Crossover outputs
3. Wattage on outputs
I am having a problem with the sound quality of Sirius with my Eclipse system just installed. My dealer says that it is an issue with the aftermarket system interfacing with the OEM amp and speakers. He says if he know the above he can mate the right speakers and amps into my system and improve the Sirius sounds quality. I frankly don't know if this is bunk or not. I do know that my Sirius sounds like it is coming out of my old '69 Chevy's mono dash speaker. My installers Sirius sounds similar to CD quality. Siruis says it is a wiring issue. I took it back to my installer and they had it all day and confirmed with Sirius and Eclipse that it is wired per specs.
Any help, suggestions, or ideas would be appreciated.

Thats truly Bizarre! My Pioneer AVIC-N2 with the XM Tuner sounds sweeet coming through original monsoon amp/speaker combo.
How is the sirius interfaced to the eclipse?
This sounds more like a low level impendance mismatch between the tuner (sirius)and the amp (Eclispe).
Heres a couple of tests to confirm if this is it.
Play a cd how does it sound at different volume levels?
Play am/fm radio at different volume levels how does it sound as compared to sirius.
this will either confirm or prove out sirius tuner issues.
Good Luck

Sorry, don't get involved in engineering design specs. Only get involved if factory or authorized GM dealer installed accessories don't operate correctly.
However, I agree with h3'er, something does not sound like it is hooked up correctly from the Sirius receiver, or there is an impedance issue between the two items.
I'm assuming the Sirius feeds the head unit, which in turn feeds the Monsoon amp, as it does for a factory setup?

Thanks for the feedback h3'er and fstop.
CDs sounds great at all sound levels! Radio, never tried it. Sirius sounds like I am missing mid-highs, and the lows are muddy. The EQ helps, but damn my trained ear, I can't take it!

Definitely a Sirius issue. It should sound as good as your cd does. Keep in mind though that on some sports and talk streams Sirius uses compression and it can sound "digital" or processed (like putting your dolby receiver in hall or stadium mode). The problem is that there is no middle ground as far as sat reception goes--you are either receiving it all the way or none at all so troubleshooting a sound quality issue can be difficult. Have them try another sirius receiver and see what that does. I would not recommend messing whith crossovers and amps yet as you say the cd sounds great so leave the amp alone for the time being.

somethings definately going on with the link betweek your sirius Unit and the Eclipse.
Having never heard sirius before I cannot offer an opinion on sound quailty but should be comparable to XM and darn near CD quality. Have them try another tuner as a test.
