Stock 35 ATs and 37 MT/Rs work well at ~18 PSI </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
What's the risk of popping a bead at those pressures? I know it is increased, but does it ever actually HAPPEN to you guys? And is the risk to the lower, more exposed sidewall great or not of concern? I had mine down to 22psi when the sharp rock shredded my sidewall. Think that was just a freak happening, or what? I KNOW it was driver error that slid me over into the sharper, higher rocks at the edge of the trail. But I DON'T know if it would have sliced like that if I were not aired down. You guys have far more experience than I, so share more with me?

Fishing Again.
We've been all over Moab and Colorado with ATs and MTs around 20 psi. Never had a bead pop. I don't think the risk is high at that pressure. When you start going to 12-15 psi the risk is much higher. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
Very good. Thanks. Now for the $64k question - what tire (35") gives the best balance of on and off road performance? In other words, is most capable off road while not sounding or feeling like a freight train on the interstate? I have been told by TWO tire dealers in my area that the stock OE Goodrich tires are about as good as it gets. Now it is hard to argue with them, 'casue I know they'd like to sell me some tires but feel they are being honest. IS there a better choice?

I ugraded to 37"MTR -- and THEY SUCK!! .. at least on H2s . Those tire guys are right. For our terrain, the BFG ATs are top of the line -- though I would get them in 37"..

I love my new Toyo MTs. Great offroad and perfect on pavement(smooth as glass at 100mph).
