Relays in underhood fuse box

I can't remember if we have discussed this before or not. But I have a very early '03 model. All of my small relays except for the BCM relay are placed in reverse of what the diagram on the lid says.

For example, the 86 post is at the opposite corner from where it is suppose to be (according to the diagram). Also and obviously, the 30 post would be at the opposite corner. On mine, this is all except for the relay for the BCM. Which is labeled F/PMP...... something or the other. It's the one just above the DRL relay. I don't have a DRL relay installed anymore, so it might be backwards as well.

The 86 post is shown in the top left, on my truck the relay is actually installed where the post is on the bottom right on every relay except for F/PMP.

I don't recall discussing it, but I recall being confused when I looked at the diagram and then looked at the relays themselves. I don't know if all of them are, but several are.

FWIW, my manual is also wrong about the wiper blade length...it lists it as 22" for the front which is clearly wrong.

Oh yeah, that is obvious.

My 31 posts are 3 degrees WNW of center and my 84 posts are AB postive. I removed by 47 posts and installed a 47V2 post to maximize detection for my curb feelers.

Funny you should bring this up.

Had a look in the fusebox on a '03 H2 the other day trying to find out why the DRL's weren't working. Relays was seated in both directions and whereas the diagram showed them all pointing the way you just described.

The interesting thing is that everything seemed to work fine on the truck (apart from the DRL's) so I turned the DRL relay around and still nothing. While I was at it I tried turning the Horn and A/C Compressor relays as well to see what would happen (if anything) and things were still working like they should.

What's up with that? I had thought that by switching a relay around the 'on/off switch' would be on the wrong side either killing the relay (due to the signal being much higher) or at least making the circuit not work. What am I missing?

The DRL's, which I found out after a few hours of poking around wasn't working because they've been replaced by custom lights with a custom harness connected to god knows what at this point. Good thing is the custom lights are normal headlights (although smaller) so I should be able to wire them up to use as DRL's during daytime and full-beams at night.
