Am trying to put together parts to have B/T handsfree in my 05 H2, contacted Parrot and they suggested to use the Soundgate GMCell interface cable
http://www.logjamelectronics.com/soundgmcell.html
I did a search and noticed a lot of members had issues with Soungate products in general (though not specifically the GMCell). Am wondering if anyone has gone this route so that the handsfree is muting the headunit broadcast and at the same time using the front speaker(s) for phone use?

4CHURCHILL, am hoping someone has experience with this combo will jump in. I'm sort of waiting a bit cause there's also a color unit on the horizon. In any case, this is what Parrot support said when I asked about the success rate:
"I've heard good things about the GMCELL from both installers and end users."

I have the soundgate GMcell adapter and use it with a motorola hands-free kit and it works flawlessly. No problems what-so-ever.
I do have an '03 but have installed an INR nav radio in mine also.

Paragon,
How does this exactly work...i have the older Motorola car kit, but am fixing to upgrade to a full install bluetooth kit, does this just mute the radio, or does the sound go through the radio speakers...also do you still have a mic, or does the onstar mic work??? I am very interested in this item..please let me know.

You install the kit just as normal. It does mute the radio and instead of using the little speaker that comes with the hands-free kit, the signals are routed back into the radio and it works like the OnStar.
You do have to run a separate mic though. There is a power wire, ground wire, mute wire and then the 2 speaker wires and that is all you connect. The adapter hooks inline with the stock wiring harness and there is no splicing to the stock harness. The adapter can be removed as though it was never there.
