Anyone hear when the nav system can be ordered. I am planning on a manual trans and I also want the Nav. The salesman says that no word has yet come as to date availablity.

Me too. I don't have any good info, just cynical comments...

Funny that two of the most interesting features
to people like us are those that are delayed the longest.

My wild guess is that both the nav system and
manual transmission will be available by next spring
but maybe not by the end of this year, or that
the manual transmission will be dropped and
never be available, just like Toyota dropped the
manual transmission option to the 4Runner in 2001.

If Hummer is able to fix problems and ramp up availability
of H3 with these options then I will be very impressed --
That'll be the kind of thing GM needs to be competitive
these days.

Per a message from GM, the NAV system will be available come October/November time frame. I'll probably order before and just continue to use my Garmin iQue 3600 for cross-country, and Magellan SportTopo for off-roading.
Most of these manufacture installed NAV systems offer no topographical information or detailed information about national parks. My Magellan details all the arches, points of interests, etc., in all the US National parks.
