Connecting a DVD player to the Hitch Cam monitor?
I was wondering if anyone has attempted to send a DVD player video signal to the little monitor that comes with (and is dedicated to) the Hitch Cam? What I want to do is split the video wire that goes to the monitor so that either the video from the hitch cam shows up on the monitor (when I'm in reverse) or video from my aftermarket DVD player shows up on the monitor (when in neutral, or anything but reverse). I am not as concerned about when one signal is displayed versus the other, but more concerned about how to split the cable. It would be nice if I could simply insert a Y-adapter in the line, but it looks like the current Hitch Cam cable is unique (in other words, it is not the standard RCA-style video cable). When I am sitting somewhere and the DVD player is on for the people in the back of the car (or if I need to navigate through the menus on a currently playing DVD), it would be nice to be able to see everything from the front seats. I hope someone has figured this out already.
