Okay, got my H2 back from getting another set of 4.56 ring and pinion in the front. The new case came in and she's ready to go. Hopefully she'll stay together for the trip to Fla. Wednesday.
I installed my Magnaflow catback today, Superchip programming and the Volant air intake.
All that is left is the Nav and cameras. I am soooo glad this is all done. (or close to it)
That is all.

Congrats on getting those things done. So what do you think with the new exhaust, programmer and intake? Notice a difference?

Who is doing the install on the front diff.
It is a tricky operation and requires some special tools. If things are not absolutely perfect, the front fry themselves in days.

Originally a GM tech friend of mine and I installed the front gears when we did the back. (that was 2 weekends ago)
Like you said, it only lasted a few days and fried the front end....seized the pinion gear to the bearings and the bearings to the case. Ended up having to buy a new case.
This time, I took it to a dealership where another GM tech friend of mine works and he installed everything. You're right, you definitely need some special tools. I hope like hell everything works this time 'cause after putting ring and pinion in the first time, the case, new gears and bearings was another grand.
This tech does nothing but gears and transmissions so I don't think we'll have a problem... like I said, I hope not cause Wednesday I'm driving to Fla from NC.
HNewbie,
I can't tell anything yet. I'll know better after the long drive this week. The magnaflow sounds okay... it's a low rumble... could have been a little louder.
The shifting pattern is better since programming with Superchip allows you to hold back a few rpms before shifting.
I'll give ya a better feedback after I get back from Fla.

I rebuilt the tranny on my 300zxtt a couple of years ago, after I got it all together, I pulled it back out and took it over to a tranny specialist.
I bought all the parts at the same time and mating parts didn't mate, something about a service bulliten that didn't get updated what a pain in the but.
Good luck on the trip, let us know how everything work.

Ooops, misread it.
I'm hoping to get up with some of the gang in the Raleigh area sometime. Maybe you could come up and join us.
