Default pitman idler arm clarification

so i went and picked up some parts from Napa today

i got this #1

http://www.napaonline.com/Search/Det...+50221+2221011

then also got this #2
http://www.napaonline.com/Search/Det...+50221+2221011

now getting underneath the H2 to swap the parts, i notice there is another idler arm similar to #1

so #2 connects to the steering part that actually turns the wheel.
#1 mounts to the frame, where the similar idler arm is conencted to it and mounts to the steering arm right next to the steering stablizer.

mystery idler arm is
http://www.napaonline.com/Search/Det...+50221+2221011

some whats the similar idler arm????
should it come with the pivot arm assembly?
should i return the pivot arm assembly and pick up the unknown idler arm?

wouldnt mind a quick response as i am working on this right now.

k thx

Hi the 2 parts you bought bolt together then to the frame. So have the correct parts to change the complete idler arm. The mystery idler arm as you called it is the pitman arm and it mounts to the bottom of the steering box. If the idler arm on your truck is worn out make sure you check the pitman arm as it maybe in need of replacement to. Hope this helps.

im guessing i had the wrong parts, as the pitman arm had splines in it, and assume it is the one that connects to the steering box.

so i still needed a pitman arm.

i ended up putting it all back together and will tackle this another day.

had other things to take care of..
frotn and rear diff oil change
crank the T bars so my tires stop shreding my plastic in the wheel well

now time for alignment... still think the best purchase so far has been the lifetime alignment with tires plus... best $150 i spent.. and boy have i gotten my money back on it a few times over...

Hi the pitman arm connects to the bottom of the steering box it has about a one inch hole in it with splines inside of it.
