Got my Manik Skid Plate installed. This skid plate only works with their Large front brush guard.

Observations: The skit plate is heavy as heck. Very Solid! Not much to the install as far as part, etc. But what a PITA to install!!! Requires removing bolts that hold the brushguard to the frame brackets. Had to get someone to hold the guard up while I bolted this thing in.

One last note, no more front license plate. The plate frame/holder no longer fits. I wish I would've known this when I ordered it. But I do like the finished look:

Lil Devil,
Looks great. I banged the heck out of mine and could not believe it did not bend. I will hit it harder next time .
Here in VA we are required to use the front plate. I looked at using the plates' bottom holes to the bumper location. Ugly...
So, I just bent it a little and forced it on. Job done.
Oh yeah, my skid plate acts like a giant scoop in deep mud. Really fun to clean.

Since you still have free and easy access to the front hitch, why not get the license plate adapter that fits into the receiver? If off-roading, remove it to keep from damaging it or if you need to mount a winch --- then just slip it back in when ready to drive on-road again.

I bought one at the local hitch shop, made out of plastic and cost $10. Carefully drilled the vertical hole in the plastic tube and I was all set.

How do you like your bumper extension light brackets? Do they shake or wobble much? Just ordered mine and was wondering...

I was actually going to install one of these:

Yes they wobble. the brackets are pretty heavy. They bolt onto hard plastic. I plan on experimenting on stablizing them. If you have ideas....

Rodney,

That's a real hoot! But can't you find something similar but in a DEVIL's face? You know with horns and everything?

I was checking out the way the brackets will mount (3 bolts into a plastic molding) and kinda figured that after putting a heavy lamp assembly in them, they just might weeble wobble a bit. I am thinking that maybe a steel brace run from the steel support might add some needed strength? Shouldn't take too much skill, and painted black it shouldn't look too bad either? Real question is will that be enough support...

They are very cool. I started carrying their product line a few months ago. They are in the process of making a custom differential cover for the H2 for me with this design:

Wow --- that should eliminate the weak at heart tailgaters! Is that chromed? Looks like something Stephen King should have on his H2, if he has an H2...
