With all of the revenue generated by the off-roading crowd I'm very surprised to see businesses in Moab sign an anti-access petition. There is some question as to whether or not they were mislead or not, but why in the Hell would you even think of screwing with your #1 source of revenue?
We, the off-roaders & SUV owners, are a potentially very powerful lobbyist group. We need to let those that would deny us the right to our choices know that we won't passively stand by and take it.

The same topic can also be found on Pirate4X4. Word of warning- don't screw with the PBB.

I don't know a 10th of what you guys know about MOAB since I've never been there. I was planning on going this year but guess what? I still will have never been there after reading this. I don't believe in spending my money where I'm not welcome. Screw them!

Come on, Jonahs. No wimping out. The businesses listed represent maybe 1% of those in Moab. You got to come up with a better excuse than that.
Tree huggers are everywhere! I'll post more after I pick the bark out of my forearms.

I think you'll find that most of these business owners are fed up with rude, rowdy, careless groups that come with the EJS crowds. I picture alot of enthusiastic yelling and engine reving, vandalism, and theft some of these owners have to put up with. Lousy tipping, smartass youth, low class drunks.
But a small percentage over all. Unfortunately for EJS, this handful will reflect upon the whole event. Which I could care less.
I highly doubt Hummer owners will get that kind of welcome from these establishments for reasons I will not state for fear of being labeled snobby or vain. It's just a fact.
Will I be flamed for saying this???

I quite agree with Dennis. These proprietors will welcome us for the polite, thoughtful, to slow to break the law, overtipping, smartass, old, high-class drunks that we are. Wait, did that come out right?

Can I please translate this?
Sarcastic Translation:
I'm not too sure about Moab. I've never been there. I was planing on going this year and got afraid. I'm not going there ever! I afraid of the tree huggers. Screw Them! I'll hide in Vegas behind one of the strip clubs! I'll spend my money where it is appreciated.

Well, I know what I was like when I was a single, young, broke, know-it-all, trying to impress the girls, Jeep owner, hangin with the drunken Spring Break crowd.
Totally different to my present wife & 2 boys, trying to set a good example, too much on the line to break any law, know-it-all, trying to impress my wife, Hummer owner, hangin with the mentally insane H2group.
Seriously,
A friend of mine who's family owns a chain of hotels can tell you it's easy to spot the ones who will smoke in the non smoking rooms, vandalize, steal(I have a huge collection of soap ), etc. Any business owner will tell you their prefered type of clientele. Moab proprieters are no different.
It's hard to explain without sounding cruel, but that's the way it is. Sigh....Lyn's gonna flame me again.
....And they're the ones who finger us.

I'll have your mom drop you off there.
I'm going to look up a few of the petition-signers tomorrow and call them to get the low down on the issue. Hope I get to drop a couple of GFY's on some bark-chewers.
