I totally call BS here.

First off - this guy writes for the Post and doesn't have a single buddy or connection in the area who has an H2 that he can get insight from? He has to go to a national board to find an owner? This reeks to me. No editor in his right mind is going to ok the funds for a flight and hotel to god-knows-where to write a fluff piece on what it's like to ride in a $50,000 truck that's been on the market for 2 years now. This would be a LOT more believable if he was looking for an Enzo or Z06 to ride along in or if there were only a few H2s on the road, like in late 02.

Secondly, with the vandalism that a lot of H2 owners have seen lately in their own driveway, I can't how see ANY amount of money would convince someone on this board to have their name and location posted in a nationally-read paper for every whacko out there to see. One quick check in the phonebook or google, they have your address and it's open season. I don't think giving a first hand account of driving the H2 is worth your anonymity.

Finally, these pieces have been done by journalists writing for OTHER nationally recognized newspapers and professional magazines a zillion times by now. Do they request drivers from off the street? Heck no! They always choose friends, rentals, or hook up with a dealership. The dealership could easily find people interested if Steven truly wanted a first-hand account. It seems incredibly unprofessional to post to a nation-wide board looking for volunteers. Very sneaky and backhanded. Unless this guy is a student intern and has no idea how things are done, but working for the Post, someone should have clued him in by now.

Listen to your troll radar on this one, guys. Something's up.

Stacy

Its the frikn media, Take a quote from Robert Blake the other morning when he was talking ot reporters,
Quote:
I don't even know why I am talking to you guys, because I always see my mouth moving and some reporter interpreting what I am saying, just like I was speeking some other language, and what the reporter is saying is all taken out of context and has little to do with what I intended.

whether or not you like Blake, I thought that was an acurate statement of the media as a whole.

Not too bad.

BTW, after our first few emails, he stopped replying.

I think Blake's statement is dead on. The article overall wasn't bad other than where he mentions 6.6 MPG
