Default Gobi ULTRA Stealth Roof Rack

Here's the Gobi Stealth rack modified to be an Ultra Stealth rack. I'll eventually get the wind deflector put on, but need to modify it a bit to account for my GPS puck.

The clearance between the bottom of the rack and top of the roof (at its highest point in the middle) is about 7/8 of an inch. I contemplated fabbing shorter brackets, since the 2" that come with the stealth are the shortest that Gobi makes; but Gobi pointed out that the rack will bend under full load and the 7/8" clearance is there to compensate for that flex.

The rack is a bit taller than the H2 roof handles that I was rocking, but shorter than the OEM crossbars...mission accomplished in my book. I can throw a piece of plywood on my truck and still fit in them fancy 'big city' parkin' garages...lol.

Rudy's Welding Service and Cold Beer (and powder coating) in Middletown, MD did the work. ALWAYS a quality job from those folks!

I've already been asked "How you gonna tie your sh!t down?" Here's the answer...Snap Loc E-Track Brackets...the perfect accessory for the Ultra Stealth rack. LOL!

Your gps should be fine behind your wind deflector...Thats where mine is, never had a slow lock or low signal.

I had the top rail cut off to make it a flat rack, then had the whole unit powder coated.
