HEEELLLPPP!!! H2 is now lower on one side
2005 H2 does not have air suspension. My son ran off the road the other night and hit something hard enough to break the rear shock in two. Both front and rear wheels went off the road and in a ditch. No body damage just seems to be lower now. Only the passenger side went off the road and now the H2 is 2 inches lower on that side (front and rear). I replaced the rear (passenger) shock and have looked all over underneath and cannot find anything else broken. Also there is about an inch of space now between the rear (plastic) bumper and the rear quarter panel. The ride is fine except for the 2 inch lean on the passenger side. What else do I need to look at. Is the frame bent?

well,1 of the questions i could prolly answer is that the rear bumper is bent causing that inch difference between the rear plastic bumper and the rear quarter panel.
everyone else will start to put their 2 cents into this matter pretty soon!
Brace yourself...

Please elaborate on the crossmember. Where is it located. I have stared and stared underneath and cannot find anything that looks out of the ordinary.

Re: HEEELLLPPP!!! H2 is now lower on one side
Not familiar with the torsion keys. Could it be that I just need to adjust them? Would the force of striking something cause the passenger side to lower 2 inches? Is there a special tool needed?
Thanks for your assistance.

Re: HEEELLLPPP!!! H2 is now lower on one side
Take it to a body/frame shop. It is not safe to be driving like that. You've likely bent the torison bar crossmemeber, best case scenario, and I've only seen this once in 10 years, you stripped all the threads off the torison bar adjusting bolt, and all you have to do is replace it. Again, only once have I ever seen this. The torision bar cross member is just below the front doors, where those long skinny rods that come from the control arms ( the torision bars) meet up with the truck (the torision bar crossmember). That is where you want to look for damage, also check the front control arms, as well as the entire right hand side of the frame. Any buckling or cracking is not normal

Thanks for the help. I will look tonight. The truck seems to be riding fine though.

How much are torsion bars and what else can I expect to replace if it is the torsion bars?
