I love them! I already mounted the four in the front of the Gobi, but have a question about the two "back-up" lights. (I'm leaving the wiring to the pros - I'm just bolting on the lights today 'cause they look so damn cool!) My question is - and some close-up pics would be REALLY helpful - how did you all mount the 1500 series (or similar) back up lights at the rear of the Gobi? I see in some of your pics that they are poking out nicely between the rails on each side of the back. HOWDJA do that?
Thanks.
And a MERRY CHRISTMAS to all! It sure was for me!

I put 1500xts on the rear of my Gobi, but then again I have the stealth....

The light tabs have holes in the bottom, just mount and tighten bolts!!!!

I know it SHOULD be that simple.......

But my PIAA 1500's didn't come with bolts. They came with screws???? Wassup with dat? And even if I got bolts and mounted them on the Gobi platforms, they wouldn't "peek" out between the rails, they'd sit a little low and have a good deal of available light blocked. What am I missing here? I didn't think I'd need any kind of cusstom alteration, but maybe I need to rig one up?

Does this sound normal?

BTW Why are you putting little 1500's on a standard rack and not 60XT's? </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

'Cause they're what I got for Christmas.

I just prefer the look of the XT's on a full size rack. The XT driving lights are good, the fogs come with ion crystal bulbs (amber/yellow) and you really need to swap the bulbs out for something with white light, just no point having amber light at the rear </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Okay, so now I know I need different lights for the back. What do you think of the Hella 550? Or should I just shut up and go with the 60XT?

Okay, exchanged them for the 60XT's but now I have an odd question......why are they upside down???? LOL The post for mounting them seems like it was designed to hang them down from above. The Gobi rack mounts them from the bottom - hence the damn light is upside down. No big deal, just wondering what was up with that??

On a better note, thanks for the advice, Phil. They DO fill up the spaces at the rear of the Gobi very nicely. A perfect fit if the damn bulbs weren't upside down.

Nothing's ever easy You need to undo the two screws at the sides and flip them 180. Not sure, but they may have a drain hole in the bottom, so you definitely want to flip the lenses. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Thanks, Phil - will do. LOL Thanks again for the help - I would have gotten them from Trail-Duty (as you know, we have an EXCELLENT business relationship ) but they were a Christmas gift, and you can't look a gift horse in the mouth!

BTW, the "little something extra" you promised? I didn't even realize what you had done for the longest time......thank you. It really wasn't necessary, but was greatly appreciated. We'll be doing more business in the VERY near future!

Thanks again,
Sean
