i want to mount some after market lights to my OEM brush gaurd. what lights would you recommend?

Stick with brand names. PIAA, Hella, Lightforce, KC - all of them will give you great lighting patterns!
You just need to decide as to whether you want better area lighting (driving lights) or long distance lighting (pencil beams).
