Spillage
Just cursious... What is the proper trail etiquette if you break something and spill fluid (oil, gas, coolant, etc) on the trail. Do you do something to clean it up?
Thanks,
Pete

Re: Spillage
yes, you clean it up. Some 4wheel drive clubs had out little spill kits. I think you can find one on Pirate. (?)
Just sop up what you can with towels if you don't have one, or ideally you would put something under it to catch it until it stops leaking.
I'll look for a couple of links for you.

Re: Spillage
Okay. I thought Tread Lightly's website would say something about cleaning up a spill, but I didn't see anything.
When we ran the Rubicon, there was a kiosk at the start of the trail where we picked up free "spill kits" that were supplied by the club. I can't remember everything that was in it tho, sorry.

Re: Spillage
Simply, a 5lb bag/bottle of oil absorbent, a heavy plastic bag to scoop contaminated soil into, and something to scoop it with, is sufficient.
Just that you would ask gives kudos to you. Thanks!
