Getting stale, time for a few mods...
I love my H2 but I?m getting bored with her looks. I think the better description is I?m getting jealous of people like Bimmer and Rousch?s H2?s.... lol..
I really like some of the lifted trucks on here so it?s time to make a few mods.
1) I?m going to start off with the 2? body lift. Since putting the diesel in the truck, the front bumper needed to be lifted a bit anyways because the front brackets for bumper aren?t quite in the same spot because of the HD2500 radiator support.
2) Since I?m getting the bodylift, it?s time to step up to 40?s. The 37?s on the truck have always seemed too small to me and I think it?s the rims.
So here?s the rims I want.
3) New tires... I?ve tried about every tire out there except the Rockers which I like. Rousch said they?re not radials and since I do a lot of highway driving, I think I?ll stay away from them. I?ve been running the open country?s but would like something better in looks. (if I can find something that works as well... they?ve been great tires)
4) Tie rod ends... the fabtech tie rod ends are getting worn out. (which is funny because they didn?t last anywhere near as long as my last set on my last lifted H2)
5) ball joints... it?s time!
6) Last but not least, I?ve always wanted an X50 light bar on the truck and this is the time to do it.
So let the modding begin!!!

Look at the BFG KM2 tire. Running those on my H2 and H3 and love them!

Re: Getting stale, time for a few mods...
When you get the Body Lift, do you mind posting the lengths of the various bolts....I know that Bimmer has provided some good info on it and posted some pics, but he ordered the HD2500 kit and apparently some of the bolts he required were not in the kit. If you could post a list of the parts you used, that would be great for those of us who want to put one together ourselves. From the info I have gathered so far, it seems that only the BL pucks and longer bolts are required as well as a Radiator lowering bracket (which is easy to fab up yourself). Not too sure about an extension of the steering shaft, as the stock one is adjustable (again, not too sure if it adjusts far enough). So any info on this would be great (either here or in the Official Body Lift thread in the Technical Section). Cheers!

Re: Getting stale, time for a few mods...
Indy,
I don?t mind but as busy as my shop is, I?m going to call the same people that did Jon?s lift and let them do it.
I?m so far behind, I don?t have time to do anything. I hate to pay someone to do something I?m perfectly capable of doing myself but I?ve got much bigger projects to finish than starting something minor like this.
Here?s what I?m starting to put my efforts into...
I just had this trailer built... now I have to start modifying it the way I want it.
(plus I need matching wheels now...lol)

Wow, that is going to be one nice trailer...are you using your H2 to tow it or will some diesel be doing that? Anyways, have fun customizing it... Cheers.

his H2 is diesel
Mark I have ran the toyos and now im running the SS M16's. they ride very smooth and look better than the toyos IMO. they are a bit louder but its not bad at all. I have 5K on them with little to no visible wear. can't wait to see how it turns out!

Re: Getting stale, time for a few mods...
I agree with bigz. If you're unsatisfied with the toyos, I'd try the m16's. Very good looking and shouldn't wear too bad. Can't wait to see the new look!!

Re: Getting stale, time for a few mods...
Oh hell no... I just looked up the SS 16’s. They’re the new Super Swampers.
I hope they are better than the old SS’s.
I had 3 sets and each one I would get 11K miles and only be through half the tread. I’d be thrilled since I was only half way through my tread.
In exactly 2K miles, they’d be GONE...
After the first two sets, I happened to see a Interco rep at a car show and mentioned it to him. When I told him I hit 11K miles, before I got to finish, he said “and you only got 2K miles out of them then?”
He said the lugs are made out of two types of rubber and once they wear through the first type of rubber, it’s all down hill from there.
Like I said, hopefully the new Super Swampers last longer.
Here’s the Pitbull Rockers.

Re: Getting stale, time for a few mods...
I don't have any personal experience with them but jonny and bigz both sport them and they seem to do okay. But the rockers do look pretty sweet!

Re: Getting stale, time for a few mods...
the M16's are supposed to be their hybrid tire. still perform well but last longer... guy at 4wheelparts said most people are seeing 35K out of them. that being said im not always the first person to trust the 4wheelparts guys, but mine have been wearing fine and they do perform really well offroad. only been once with them but they performed better than my old toyos.
the rockers do look mean! you should talk to Andres about them though cause he had told me at one point that they were wearing down quickly(couple thousand miles and very visible wear).
Looking forward to seeing what you got in store Mark!

Now 35K would be worth it... I’ll check with Andres and see what his thoughts are on it.
Mark
EDIT: Checked out the M16’s... only available up to 37’s. I’m finding that out to be true... harder than I thought getting 40’s. The Toyo Open Country’s have been an excellent tire, I have ZERO issues with them, I just thought I’d try something more aggressive looking. (which is why I really liked the Rockers but they don’t seem to have too good of a review)
Arrgghhhh

So was the tranny tunnel massaged or cut to fit the allison? I havn't seen a conversion that didn't have a body lift.

Re: Getting stale, time for a few mods...
I checked the interco website Mark and they make the M16's in 40's for 20's 22's and 24's. Probably would be harder to find than the toyos though. I ordered mine through 4wheelparts and they came from a factory in florida to Nashville in 4 days and were very easy to find. I have them in 37x13.5x17.

Nope, different engine mounting brackets but no body lift or cutting of the trans tunnel.

I should have checked their website, I went through 4wheelparts?s website and they didn?t show a listing.
Thanks, I?ll look into it again.
