Rearview Mirror Camera
Hey all. I've got the rearview camera in my truck that slides out when you put it in reverse and slides back in as soon as you leave reverse. My mom just had a camera installed in her Yukon XL that shows up on her headunit and takes up the full screen in reverse, but can be set to take up half of the screen when in drive. So my question is, is there any way I can rig my camera to stay out all the time?

I'd like to have that option as well. But would also like to have the cam hooked into the NAV sytem when in reverse. Anyone do that mod that yet?

Haha, I actually considered super glue at first, but does the camera stay on even when it is in the mirror? Cuz otherwise I'd have the camera out all the time and a nice black screen to stare at when in drive.

Re: Rearview Mirror Camera
I chose to use a 3" monitor mounted to the overhead consol. I went from the positive through a switch. I wanted to have a switch because at night the headlight glare from behind tends to get alittle annoying if peeps are riding on your butt.
I also put a camera on the back of my enclosed trailer. Ran a loop off the rig camera, which when I plug in the trailer it becomes dominant and bingo, now I can see behind my trailer.
This in no way interfers or connects to the nav systems screen.

Re: Rearview Mirror Camera
Is that a Dealer installed option or aftermarket ? How much does it run installed ?

Re: Rearview Mirror Camera
If you're asking me, my truck came from the factory with it because it came on all of the Limited Edition 2007s. I don't see why they couldn't put it on any truck though, though I have no idea how much it would cost.
