Real happy with mine. I just keep the factory unit handy when going offroad where water is involved.

When should I really start worrying about how deep the water is, as far as getting it in through the intake? I have an airaid setup. Don't plan on ever going through any deep water, but was just wondering. I know it's 20" of water fording capability according to the book. Do I really risk getting water into the intake at 20" with the airaid?

I have never chanced it. As you go through you are pushing water and I don't know how it reacts under the hood.
