That's the V-8 for the Colorado. You'll get it 4 years later. 
I've read the 5.3 with GM's desired 6 speed auto won't fit the current platform so GM is modifying the GMT-355. No word on this modified platform getting a new moniker, but it could be used under the H4, too.

GM could install the new 6L70E trans on the H3 and make it front wheel drive. That should fit.
