Anybody else have there keyless entry not work sometimes?
I went to a store earlier and it locked just fine, but when I came out about 30min later it would not work. I had to use the key to unlock the door and put down the stuff I bought in order to start the engine so the factory alarm would not go off.
When I got home I got out and tried the keyless and it worked just like new.

I know this has been discussed before, but has anyone come up with a cause for this issue yet?

Hey, try replacing the battery first, if that doesn't work tap it on your leg with alittle force and see if it works then. Something came loose inside mine and i had to solter it back together

Yeah I've had the same thing happen to me once. RF interference might be the cause, is it always happening in the same general area?

So the battery is only good for two months, my build date was 8/17/2005.

Well I've only had it 2 months so if the battery needs to be replaced the dealer will do it.

Expedition 2 years old never replace battery. Suburban 7 months old never replace battery.
Yukon 3 months old hope the battery doesn't go dead on it.

Delphi using cheaper batteries since they filed bankruptcy?

By the way I went back to the same store to test RF interference or if the remote was the problem, and it has not failed again.

My wife reminded me that it did this the day we picked it up in Plano, I am wondering if it has something to do with someone trying to get in it.

I would guess it is not the battery, if it fails to work and thirty minutes later it works. Rest assured, Dephi filed bankruptcy after your delivery. However, I have bought brand new batteries to only have one fail immediately.
If it ever fails, and you have the other remote with you, try that before entering the vehicle. If the other remote works, there could be a faulty solder joint or circuit board in the non-working remote.
If they both don't work, take it to the dealer and see if a code has set. Could be a bad connection in the body of the vehicle.
Also, since the BCM is the receiver, the range of the remote is farther when you are approaching the right front of the vehicle.
RF interference can cause this problem; however, if it was due to large antennas, it would not have locked the doors in the lot. (Unless the NSA is playing around in your neighborhood. )
Whatever you do, do not push the remote 256 times without being in range of the BCM. If you do this, the BCM will not recognize the remote, since it will have passed the set point for the rolling code technology.

No way!!! I've had my current H2 for more than 2 years. I use the remote several times a day and haven't changed the battery. Maybe you had a bad battery or some other problem. Try taking it to the dealer like most people do when they have a problem.

I have the same problem but i figured it out. It was the portable air ionizer that plugs in the cigarette lighter jack. When I have it plugged, the keyless entry would not work! I guess its the magnetic field it creates to ionize the air. I now have to unplug the air ionizer since the accesory plug retains power to avoid this issue. Hope this helps.

Mine did not come with a portable air ionizer nor have I added one, no need for one in west texas (no way it can take all the dirt out of the air).

Talked with someone today about the remotes, and his reply was basically this: The remote used on cars/trucks is at the bottom end of the electronic RF food chain. By FCC regs, these unit cannot interfere with any other RF device, and will be disabled if there is a device on the same frequency in the immediate area.
This may or may not be the problem, but it might be.
