I wonder how well this would work as an alternative to the magnetic shields?

I like the fact that it covers the hood. Somebody buy them and let me know how they work.

I have had issues with those types of covers in the past where they rub off clear coat and plastic chrome. Maybe this one is better?

It doesn't look good for highway speeds. But with a 10 minute install, that may not matter.

It appears to fit too loose so it may snag on trees.

I found this info under the FAQ:

11.* How long does installation take?
The initial installation of the velcro fasteners and* "Truck Glove" will take one person about 15 to 20 minutes.* Thereafter all "Truck Glove" installations can be completed in 5 to 7 minutes.* Taking the "Truck Glove" off is even easier, allowing the owner to complete this task in about 2 minutes.* The period of time needed will decrease as the owner becomes adept at installing the "Truck Glove".
12.* What if the "Truck Glove" should tear?
The "Truck Glove" is made from virtually indestructible material.* We believe that it will not tear.* If for some reason a section should tear, the Truck Glove Company will replace it.
13.* Is the "Truck Glove" covered under a guarantee?
We believe the "Truck Glove" to be a unique product providing the vehicle owner with an excellent protection mechanism from scratches.* The "Truck Glove" is made from a very strong material.* Because of this, we will provide a limited lifetime warranty for the original owner.

What's "limited lifetime" mean in this context? And what is this "very strong" material?

But hey, it's warranted. Someone tell us how it works.
