I took a few videos this afternoon playing around in my green H3 in a local dirt field that has some nice hills.

Please be aware that these are very large files (sizes listed below). You will need Quicktime to view them.

Video 1 - 46MB
Video 2 - 16.5MB
Video 3 - 40MB

These little hills that I am climbing are about 30 to 31 degrees. The H3 owners manual says the vehicle can safely handle up to a 31 degree incline. I have found some hills that are steeper. Can any of you with more hill climbing experience tell me what degree I can safely handle without pushing the limits?

I have gone up some steep hills and really worked the truck hard. Not sure how steep they were but had low gear in and lockers ingaged and worked my way up the hill.

I would suggest taking those running boards off before doing any off roading.

So do you have the adventure package on your H3? I was wondering if you had it in 4 low with the lockers engaged or not? Also, you can take air out of your tires and get better traction.

Yes I have the adventure package. I had it in 4 low the entire time. I only engaged the locker on the last hill in video 3. I tried to make it up that hill without the locker and couldn't. I just kept slipping about half way up. With the locker engaged it still slipped a little (as you can see in the video) but it makes it.

You should start a thread with this link:

Nice info. It'd be helpful to the H3 noobs.

take a pic closer to your front fender, i wanna see why you cant have that rocker panel protection with mudflaps... i think the flaps are a must cuz the front wheels throw rocks at your rear fenders and mine are chewed up

I think I found that out when I built a H3 on Hummer.com. It does look real close from the pictures I have seen on the internet. It would be nice to have them. I will get a picture as soon as my wife returns the truck.

I am all over getting the flaps as I think they are a must have. I just wish they were color matched, or at least the ability to do so.

However I do believe they were designed to blend in with the hummer grey trim. Thus if they were colored they wouldn't look as good.

I would have to see some made up in the same color as the main H3 body to see how they look first.

BTW: They texture on the mud flaps are the exact same finish as the other grey parts. Thus it would be very hard to get a smooth painted finish on them.

Just my .02</span>
