Need opinions on exhaust changes
When MossH2 was selling everything but the kitchen sink, I bought a bunch of stuff, including ceramic coated Hedman Headers. I contacted a recommended exhaust shop, and they quoted my $390ish for a cat back 3" SS exhaust and $400ish (!!!) to mount the headers and run 3" SS to the cats. He said that the headers are particularly difficult on the right side of the motor.
This seems like a lot of green. Any opinions on this? Thanks!

Re: Need opinions on exhaust changes
Find another shop, they are not that hard to install. I have done it on mine and I have a supercharger that covers the right side (Whipple).

Re: Need opinions on exhaust changes
Captain tell whoever that they can raise front end and remove both front tires. Then quickly remove the front fender inner liners and all is wide open looking them in the face. Remove spark plugs first so they do not break one. One guy on each side and the guy on driver side will finish ahead of the other side if both go at same pace. Remove the skid plates which needs to be done anyway for exhaust R@R. The passenger side header is a little more difficult but, as mentioned not that bad. It is even easier if items mentioned above are removed for clearance but, more so it helps keep guys from crawling around leaning over fenders. It speeds the install up even though it seems it would not.
For $260.00 my perf. exhaust shop ran from my already installed Dynatech stainless header and catback system, twin 3" pipes 1 from each cat to each of 2 super 40 Flowmaster mufflers. Then 2.5" twin pipes out of each Flowmaster muffler back and over axle stopped in stock location. This price included all tubing and 2 Flowmaster mufflers. There was quite a bit of custom bending and making all tubing fit up high above bottom of frame. Reducer had to be made to reduce 3" pipes from cats going into the 2.5" Flowmaster inlet then 2.5" matched up going out Flowmasters up and over axle. I stressed I wanted the system to fit in factory location so they took care to do so.
Oh the 2 super 40 Flowmasters when turned on there edges will fit nicely right where the huge factory muffler was. This way You can get a true dual exhaust system.
