Default Painting rockstars?

I would like to paint the stars in my rims , what would be the proper way to go about this? How would i prep them? Im thinking i could maybe use plastidip??? any suggestions would be great THANKS

Definatly would sandblast them as far as prep and as soon after that get them powdercoated then clear coated....the clear coat in the oven will give them shine as well as about 5 times more durability on the powdercoat....can't go wrong with this method.....

don't powder coat them...it's plastic....lightly scuff and use any plastic paint at home depot.

YEAH im just doing the stars when u say lightly scuff them, what grit paper should i use??

sorry, i thought u were doing complete wheel.....for plastic krylon paint is tough to beat!

800 grit and a bout an hour to do 4.

Adhesion promotor (used clear) 3 coats

Plastic paint from duplicolor (was able to match to match the paint with thier book)

Clear coat/ high gloss 6 coats/

It took us roughly 5 hours from start to finish while playing darts and hanging out...in teh garage all night.

They've been mounte dup on my bud's DMax and has preassure washed them without issue.

FIRST before anything, wash with dish detergent and water and rinse and repeat. Make sure you get any residue off, especially tire shine crap. Paint doesn't like it at all!

I saw a super duty harley davidson with black rockstars and orange center stars not to long ago. Looks great done right.
