Default From the Hummer Plant

From the Plant Newsletter -

"The UAW Local 2166 team members are training to contact our Hummer and Colorado/Canyon customers and thank them for their GM purchase."

The Local 2166 members are the people that build your Colorado/Canyon and Hummer vehicles. They care about your problems and want to hear what concerns you have.

Does this mean we will be getting phone calls soon asking how to improve the vehicles they build?

I will check into this and let you know. But you have to remember that they would be finding out problems that have been caused and created by the assembly process rather than where switches are located or things that design or engineers would do.

Shiat, I rather thank them for building mine. I have no major issues with mine, just some thoughts on improving the 3.

Either way. I am STOKED to have a Hummer.

You can always write the plant and tell them how you feel about your H3. We used to get letters all the time and a lot of these would be posted where others in the plant could read them and can be thanked for their efforts.

They have done this at other plants with mixed results. In Spring Hill, most complaints were easily resolved by a reference to the assistance center, than a reference from the assistance center to the customer to read the owner's manual.
If there were any technical problems, it again was referred to the assistance center then to the dealer, and then to the field service engineering group. This part did help Saturn jump on problems a bit quicker than usual.

I am very pleased with my h3, I find it to be a very solid heavy duty truck. I use mine for offroad, snow & ice, towing and operate it in sub 0 temps, and the truck just works hard. I have 28.5k miles now and have never had an issue beyond the tire pressure monitering system coming on in the cold weather. I use my Hummer but i also treat it well, garage every night regular maintence etc.

I am considering getting an h2 after this one though, only for more towing capacity. I am going to keep mine till I hit about 50k then move to H2.
This is my first Hummer, and I am very impressed by the quality of the rig.
Hummer is just different then other vehicles, where I live everyone has a truck, or a Tahoe suv, probabley only a hanndful of Hummers in my town, so they represent something different, and bold.
Good job GM!

I had an occasion to speak with GM Customer Assistance yesterday in reference to my Marker Lamp/ Dealer Problem from August. This is not the dealer I bought my rig from.

Anyway.. GM will be paying for installation cost of my marker lamps when the corrected version is available due to the problem of me waiting 14 weeks and not getting my rig.

While speaking with GM ..I was told that the Factory will be calling me to ask me about my H3 as mentioned above. I think this is an excellent idea and can't wait for the call.

It's been almost two weeks with the H3 now.. It's everthing I expected and more . The more part would be the quailty of fit and finish. The paint is absolutely Flawless..!!! No Orange peel and every surface covered nicely.

The Rig rides like a cloud.. Much more good things to say but not enough time here to type it all out.

I think the best thing I can say to the HUMMER Builders and Engineers is..

Hat's Off to you guys... A job well done. And to anyone who has just dropped in here to read a post or two... BUY AMERICAN AND BUY GM..!!
