Checking with Hummer dealers in Virginia Beach and Richmond, VA. they want $90 and $80 respectively for the H2 air filter. Totally crazy for a stock GM filter. Just to let everyone know, the part GM part number is 88944151 and dealer cost is just under $46.00.

Why not go with the Airaid direct replacement? Just drop in the oem box and it's good for life. It's about the same money and you'll never have to replace it.

LasVegas,
I use to use the K&N on a Mustang GT a few years ago. You are right, you can get a K&N or Airaid for a couple of hundred, then just clean it every so often. Maybe even pick up a few extra ponies too. For me, now that I have gotten older, I like to change it out and be done in 5 minutes or less. The cleaning and re-oiling each time I changed the oil just got old. Plus for the price of the aftermarket I can buy at least 5 of the stock ones (not at full retail of course)which will last me about 10 years. I will probably get rid of it by then. I have also learned that all the extra money put into aftermarket parts does not exactly add to the value when it comes time to sell it, especially trades. Just personal perference I guess.

You're right. Never get the money back. Although the Airaid is only about $90 bucks. How do you like the 05 Nav & XM now? I love mine.

P.S. You know we're actually better off pulling the aftermarket parts out and selling them rather than "giving" them to a dealer!

****...you mean this thing has an air-filter that we're supposed to change???

23,000 miles on my original filter

But it's okay...I took it out and air-blasted it with my air compressor. All I can say is...there's huge advantages to being the lead rig!!!

I'd pay $90 for a life-time filter rather then $55 for a one-shot deal.

Get the AmsOil part number PCF-H2, is identical to the OEM and a lot less money! I'm a Amsoil Dealer if you are interested, let me know.

I guess the post on GM parts at dealer cost doesn't include Filters?
If it does, isn't always best to go with OEM parts for warranty issues?
