I just bought a 2005 Adventure Series (Black). I always hear people complaining about H2 acceleration, but during the test drive the acceleration seemed fine. My daily driver is a Porsche 928GT (330hp 5sp M), so I know what decent acceleration is. So, I guess the point is, what is everyone complaining about? The car seems fine to me.
Best regards,
George

I love the acceleration for a 7000 lb vehicle with a gasoline engine. It is a little doggy from 60 to 80 unless you add a charger..

In noticing the surprise myself how well they run, I find the problem in getting rolling quick enough. Once it hits 2500 rpm My Girl runs very good. I have done alot to try and help low end but, I just do not see it running like I want it to until I get the SC on. It may not help as much on the low end but, a 69% increase there would be nice and then the 125% after 2500rpm roughly if You have seen Kens 0to60 it can tear Your arms out of the socket to hang on.

In my book, 17 sec quarter-mile/ 10 second 0-60 times are unacceptable. Period. I will be inserting a blower soon. And the next Honda that tries to race me is going to get run the **** over.

KenP, very nice! I just bought two TNR's, perhaps I should have bought a supercharger! So how often you do scare the crap out of the common rice rocket?

Not often enough. But when I do it's hilarious.

The truck will accel good enough if your way into the gas. If it had 100 more horses and 100 lbft of torque it would be much more pleasant to drive. I think a 5 speed transmission would help also. With a 5 speed, the RPMS would not have to drop as far when it shifts into second. I installed a predator on mine and it made zero difference. After seeing Ken's video, I think me wants a super charger! Of course now that super unleaded is going to be like $5.00 per gallon soon maybe not.

I guess what I'm seeing is that different people want the H2 to be different things (which is very cool). Some, like me, want it to be a solid on/off road performer -- -- which it is in it's stock configuration. Others want various levels of the biggest, baddest, and fastest iron on the road -- -- which it can be with special chrome rims, larger tires, a blower and some other readily available mods.
Bottom line: It can be what you want it to be and there's nothing like it anywhere else.
Party on,
George

What's nice is you can do engine mods, chrome rims and other goodies that George pointed out and not sacrifice the truck's offroad capabilities. (Watch out with electric fans ) Of course huge rims and a lowering kit will keep you in the parking lot.
Last time I went to Paragon a couple of the much more experienced offroaders noted how my wider tires seemed to make some obstacles easier to traverse. Yes, that was mentioned over beers. And yes, I did put a few scratches on the chrome rims.
We're all lucky to have a such a great truck.
