Well, I feel like calling a vote on this issue. I was at the bar the other night, and sure enough, on comes the commercial about the kid who builds a go-kart H2 and wins the race by going offroad instead of staying on the trail. (If you haven't seen it, it's on the Hummer website)
I laughed, because I think it's funny, but this lady at the next table was shocked. She said that it was teaching kids that its "O.K. to cheat as long as you do it in a Hummer" (Her words not mine).

So the question is.....do you like the commercial. Please do not vote more than once unless you live in Florida, then we will not count your votes at all unless we agree with them.

I would like my kids to be creative. There is no cheating here. She and her kids are just carbon copies with below average I.Q.

It was funny! Reminded me of a neighbor kid about 28 years ago.

People are putting WAY too much thought into a commercial that is supposed to be funny...and nothing more.

That's a problem in the world today...we read too much into everything...and it always ends up offending someone...

Alec,

Like I said...you're putting WAY TOO MUCH thinking into the commercial. You're probably one of those people that think if a kid sees Wiley Coyote drop and anvil on the Road Runner, he'll do it for real? or if he plays Army as a kid with a fake gun . he'll grow up to be a criminal with real guns??

Sheesh...It's a freaking commerecial...not a "political-public-statment-that-represents- the-thoughts-and-beliefs-of-all-future-or- present-Hummer-owners"

I agree with Patriot, there is way to much sensitivity and over reaction.... stinks of being PC. I hate PC. If anyone thinks that a kid driving a toy H2 across the grass is sending some kind of subliminal message they are thinking way to much and need to stop! It is just kids being kids. There is no problem with showing that the H2 is and always will be the Off-Road King of the Hill. The Greeny's can KMA.

"Life is tough... tougher if you’re stupid." "Just think, right now, all over the world there are people exercising bad judgment. Somebody, right this minute, is probably making the mistake of his life

Why would someone be intimidated by a truck? I love that people are so self-centered that they feel that I made a personal decision based on my desire to make them feel a certain way. Give me a break. The H2 is a great looking truck. It is also fun to drive. End of story.

I loved it! The only drawback for me is that my two children have put it on their Christmas list (they started their list very early this year).

Geesh, people on the board these days are so d*mn touchy.

Chill people.

The commercial is supposed to be about kids having fun. We are all just big kids who like to have fun. If we weren't, we sure as hell wouldn't have bought an H2. Instead, something much more practical like an Element (yeah, right).

Proceed with the whining...

I love that ad. I was practically cheering at the tv the first time I saw it.

BTW, it got big thumbs up on the Jeep board too.

I don't think the cardboard H2 has any emissions so it should be ok I bet some of those kids who lost the race become future ELF's. What do you think?
