For those of you with the sunroof option, does it bother you that the dome light is behind the sunroof almost in the back seat? I wondered if I could tap into the exhisting domelight and fish wire around the sunroof to a point in the headliner just behind the sunroof switch for an additional map light? Wonder where I could find a light trimmed out with the right color? anyone got any ideas?
I've got one of those stupid clip on lights that you have to hold with both hands and turn the bezzel to get it to come on. I like being able to "punch" the headliner (in the dark)and have a handy light come on that lights up the area in your lap, not the back seat. Thanks all for any help.

Got to keep in lively around here
As far as your question though, sorry do have any recommendations but I am sure it could be done fairly simply.

You can buy another domelight at alldiscountparts.com. Then you could tap into the existing domelight wires.
You will need to cut the headliner to install the new domelight, not sure how difficult that would be keeping the headliner up there.
Someone else might know where the domelight harness comes down from the roof so you can tap the wires there...little easier.

Going to a "super secret"area tomorrow. they've got a few H3s tore appart for various things. I'll have a friend pull a headliner to see where I can tap in. should have thought about that earlier. gonna see if i can't find an eyeball light for a truck or car. I'll check out that site deiT. thanks.

It appears the dome lamp harness runs up the passenger side A-Pillar molding. At the top, there is a six pin white connector. You should be safe to tap into the orange wire on terminal 1 for the inadvertent power supply voltage from the BCM.
You can then run the wire across the front of the headliner, over to where you want to install the new dome lamp; just tuck it up under the front.
I do not recommend lowering the headliner, it is not easy; especially with a sunroof. A lot of trim moldings have to be removed, and the headliner is formed, so it does not bend to easily, and if bent to far, it creases.
This will not only give you power to your new dome lamp, but will also be controlled by the BCM, so if you should leave it on, with the vehicle ignition off, the BCM will shut it off after 20 minutes, to prevent battery rundown.
