Default Northern California - AMP Powerstep

I would like to have some AMP Powersteps installed and I do not have any time to do it myself.

Are you guys aware of any shop in Northern California that you could recommend that I could have install them?

I appreciate your help.

yes you can hardly tell the difference in factory rock sliders and AMP's when they are folded up..it's an awesome product. I'd recommend it to anybody.

So these replace the steps and sliders? They look like they are wider than the stocks steps as well. Anyone with more pics?

Yes, yes... They are about 8" wide. How many more pics do you want or what specifically are you wanting to see?

Its not difficult by anymeans. Its a little time consuming as the H2 door triggers are all independant circuits so a trigger wire needs to be tapped into each one. Off memory i think it took me about 3.5 hours doing it by myself. I'm pretty sure the full instructions for the H2 are available off amps site.

I would say going down isn't going to be a problem. What you need to watch out for is snow buildup on them. You need to make sure any time you get in that you kick off the big chunk of snow from the front wheels or they will not go up. There is some load protection built in them so if they get a certain amount of resistance it shouldn't strip the gears. The gearbox is rebuildable in the event you do strip the gears, which i believe are nylon.

Manual trigger- I've seen people tap into an extra channel on keyless entry to lower the steps...but I dont really see any value to that.

I've had mine all caked in mud a few times, enough to where they wouldn't come up all the way. But after washing and spraying lubricant all over the joints they fold up just like new. I'm impressed on how durable they are.

it is a nice wide step compared to the stock tube steps. its hard for me to justify 1300 bucks for these though. maybe ill just steal them off my buddies 08 denali!

if you watch craigslist enough, there are some really good deals on the steps. I got mine for $700. Seems $1000-1200 is about the going rate for them installed, which I feel is reasonable.

One thing on my list is to add some LED rock lights directed at the steps in their down position and the immediate ground area. People not familiar w/ riding in your rig will thank you for that. Just wire the lights into the power circuit for the steps.

I am debating if I want to fab up a 3rd step to fit up under my custom rear bumper I'm building right now. It would be damn nice to pop the rear hatch and have a full length step drop down for access.

yea, but I think the h2 ones are unique to look like the rock slider tube. I have an extra step that was damaged when shipped, I'll just cut it down to size if I decide to do it.
