Default Re: Turtle Wax Ice

Mine did have wax on it from the delaership - at least they told me it did. And it did appear to bead when it rained, but not to the extent a good wax product and job will give paint.

On that note, Meguiar's Gold definitely gives better results in rain than does ICE. Again, this reinforces that ICE is only a polish. Although if that is the case, I am not sure why they have the base polich and then the touch up spray - wouldn't they be the same at that point?

The way I apply ice is to use the foam applicator pad. I do one body panel at a time (one wet, while I a drying the previous after the initial panel application). Once it is dry (it should dry physically almost like rubbing alcohol would and well under a minute), I take a soft cotton or microfiber cloth to it (like the one that came with the detailer spray). The first buffing pass should be with a moderate amount of pressure. The second and third passes should be with progressively lighter pressure. Mine turns out like mirror after this.

I try to do this in the shade but it does say it can be applied in direct sunlight. I haev done both and I think it is easier to work with in the shade. You don;t have to hurry as much. I think excessive heat may make it streak.

Some times no matter what you do something that works for everyone else just doesn't work for you even though you do everything correct.

Happens to me all the time...

When that happens eat drink a few,
take a nap, get laid, drink a few more and then try a different product !

Good luck
