I bought a h2 for its offroading abilities, I am wanting to buy some aftermarket rims and tires but don't want to add a lift or any mods to the suspension. What size rims and tires do you guys reccommend to keep this still an aggressive 4x4.

i run 37x13.50 r 18 nitto mud grapplers, with 18 in motometal rims, i have some rubbing in the front but not alot and im gonna trim the wheel well or use a heat gun to push it back, the nitto grapplers are the most agggresssive and coolest tires ive seen IMO

I pretty much bought the hummer h2 sut for the same reasons. I was up in arms on which tires and rims to go with also. I did alot of research on this very subject. I went with 20in rims, 8 1/2 width, with 35x12.50x20in toyo m/t's on my factory height hummer. They look awesome and for a agressive mud pattern they are quiet and ride great. If you go with any tire larger then 35 in...watch out because my dealer said it will void warranty coverage on certain things.

I have 20x10 wheels with 35-13.5x20 tires and have no rubbing anymore (it did slightly for about a week).
I do not ever get into anything where I have to air down my tires. If you do, I would not go bigger than 18" wheel. I am mainly getting into mud and not rocks.

I've read a ton of posts on this subject and it seems if you want a good balance of off road and on road wheels/tires. The best combination seems an 18" wheel with a 35" tires such as the Toyo Open Country M/T's. I got the Cooper STT's because teh 35" Toyo's were backordered. However, I've had two sets of the Toyos and absolutely loved them. On road they are surprisingly quiet for a mud tire. The tread is aggressive and somewhere on this forum DRTYFN did a commentary on their off raod ability...which was very positive. Most of all, they just look hot (both The Toyos and Coopers)! Also, there seems to be several posts regarding articulation issues while wheeling with 37's. I'd stay with 35's.
Also, I know you've had many custom wheels before but make sure the offset and backspacing is right for your Hummer. My 18" Kaotic NT-2's looked hot but they stuck out 2 inches beyond the fender. Damn Issaquah police stopped me once but only gave me a warning. Plus, with all this rain the minute you drive off after washing the truck it's dirty.
I'm really happy with the 18" Black KMC's I got. They are very easy to clean and have the right offset. Plus you can get them all day long on Ebay for $700.00! I think black wheels would look great on your Pewter rig.

I had the 17" Weld EVO Velocity 8's and 37x12.5x17 Superswamper SSR's and loved the set up! They Rubbed a little at full turn, but I never had an issue with full articulation!
They were very loud, and were a little difficult to balance, but they in my opinion, were the best offroad tire around. The only other tire I would consider would be the IROK Radial.
I push those tires to their limits, and they never let me down. They climed granite rocks at Katemcy Rock, slick rocks at Devils Den, mud bogs at D/D and Hunting leases, tree stump laden fields at Clines ranch and Hunting leases, very soft sands in gulf coast regions, popped way too many beer bottles at every party I attended, and saw thousands and thousands of Hot Texas highways.
Running this size of tire was never an issue with the warranty coverage.
The fact that I wheeled the H2 so hard, was always a concern of the dealership though!
This is just my experience with these tires, I'm sure others have thier own take on these tires.
