Lift kit problems

I have a 6" bds lift kit on my 05 h2. Love the kit but from day 1 I've had a problem with my rear deal out of my transfer case leaking s little. I'm guessing it's from the angle of the driveshaft goin in it because it's leaking from the top of the seal only when the vehicle is moving. I've replaced the seal 2x now but only last so long before it stops leaking. Any suggestion to cure this? Or has anyone had this problem with a. Different brand kit. Thanks

What do you mean by "rear deal"? If you're talking about the output for the rear driveshaft, I'm not sure why you'd have leakage. My truck is lifted a bit higher than your's, and I've had no problems there. If, for some reason, you do have an extreme angle there, try getting a custom driveshaft made. What has BDS said?

bds said same thing as you basically. the back trailing arms are adjustable on there kit. i set them as stated in there directions. i got no vibrations or anything now how its set up. they called it weeping out.... it only leaks as i drive. not when it just sits. the fluid works its way outta the seal and slings it over everything behind the transfer case.... i wanna fix this but not sure anything will help. its a 6" kit but actually raised my truck 8". when i but my wheels and tires on it , raised it up another almost 3".

If the angle of the driveshaft is too great, you could try a custom driveshaft with custom CV joints to help relieve some of that stress.

Did you have a custom shaft made? You said yours does not leak and you have more of a lift so I'm curious why I'm having the problem instead of you? I wonder If I adjust my trailing arms and change the pinion angle if that would help my situation? In the bds kit it does not change the location or angle any of the transfer case so it has to be the angle of the driveshaft I would think... Dunno

Honestly, I probably have about the same amount of lift as you. I wrote that I had a bit more lift before you wrote that the BDS is closer to 8", so I'm assuming we're pretty close.

As I wrote my earlier response, I was thinking the same thing you asked...why am I not having the problem? And, no, I don't have a custom driveshaft. I'm curious, though, how do you adjust your trailing arms? The Fabtech kit retains the stock arms. I'm putting the Hotchkis arms on soon, but for now, they're stock. When you spoke to BDS about the shocks, did you mention the leaking?

As for the arms, one end is fixed position and the other end is threaded and uses a jam nut. Just like on a adjustable 4 link or something. Yes I spoke to them about the leaking and they said it's it common at sll. They mentioned the adjustable trailing arms and my pinion angle may b off... He told me it needs to be set within 3* of the transfer case... Guess I'll have to check but when I installed the kit they had a specific length the bars needed to be set at for an h2. I set them there....

Interesting. You're talking about the BDS arms, correct? I've never taken the stock arms apart.

And I guess you have somewhat of an idea now of what to try. Please post what you find out. I'm sure some others might have similar issues.

Yes the bds arms are the adjustable ones. I have an idea but figuring out how to measure the angle may prove to b a challenge. I should b able to figure it out though and hopefully get this leaky issue fixed. Lol
