Powdercoating stock grill
Has anybody powdercoated their stock chrome grill? New black painted one from the dealer is $500, was thinking that would be cheaper.

Re: Powdercoating stock grill
You cannot powdercoat your stock grill. It's plastic, it will be destroyed!
You could have it plasticoated though. Line X or Rhino Coat will work. That $500 price from your stealership is pretty high btw.

or duplicolor spray on bedliner. takes 2-3 cans - at 7 bucks a can, can't beat it!

Bed liner works great.

Go to your local paint store and ask for a spray can of plastic primer. Then pick out a can of black paint with the finish that you'd like(glossy, satin, matte). Make sure to use some sand paper on the grill to rough up the surface so the primer will have something to adhere to. Apply primer, let dry for the recommended time, then apply the black spray paint.
IMO, I'd recommend applying the primer and then having a bed liner professionally applied. Much more durable and looks better. Most places will do it for around $80.
