Default New engine help please

Hi

I need some help. The engine in my H2 can't be fixed, since it's not posible to get a new cylinder that's a bit bigger (is this correct ?)

A new engine will cost me about 12000 $ (stated by the workshop here in Denmark).

I have also been told that I can't just by another Vortec 6.0 liter engine off ebay, unless it was originally pulled from a H2, because there is a difference on this engine (?????)

Would any of you have a good source for a new / lightly used engine (cheap) that would fit my H2. And one that would be willing to ship overseas.

No Duramax please, refitting this here in DK would cost a fortune.

Regards
Rene

$12000 sounds waaaaaay out of line for a new engine, if your heads are not damaged all you need is a new short block, I believe our H2's use the exact same engine as any of the 3/4 trucks (base 6.0L) and the Escalade and Denali's. Sounds like they are trying to royally stick it up your A$$ on this. Dont let them.

Escalade and Hummer have their own short block, but it's not fundamentally different than any other GM 6.0 liter(upgraded pistons and rings). You can essentially buy any long block 6.0l and use your existing intake and exhaust setup. There are some subtle changes from year to year, so I'd try and get one from the same year vehicle.

Bore cylinder walls out...bigger stronger high compression pistons and better rods. Good to go and will have more power.

I'm suprised you don't have a better sourse for parts. I know theres tons of GM stuff in Iceland. have you tried looking down in North Africa? there may be loads of parts down by Dubia & Kuwait

Hi CrackerJackToy

This was actually my first option, but the shop told me that they couldn't get new pistons to fit. They told me this was not made since then it might not meet the emmisions (spelling ??) regulation.

I just need them i oversize 1....

Rene

Ps. Did find another engine in the US, trying to get it shipped to Denmark right now
