Speedo issue
Ok guys, PLEASE tell me there is a way to fix this or at least a cheap way to fix this. Today I was driving and I looked down to see I was doing over 120 mph. I realized the speedo was screwed up because there was NO WAY I was doing that. Sure enough I get to my destination, shut off the truck and the speedo said 60mph. Yep parked I am doing 60mph :-p
So i start to look up on my phone what the issue is and of course it is a known issue. It seems this is so known that alot more then just HUmmers have it but GM wont recall them they will just do a service on them up to 80k. Well I have more then 80k on my truck so that means GM is saying screw you to me. So now I need to find out how I can fix this on the cheap.
I have read that this is a 700 dollar fix, to which I dont have that right now to fix the speedo, especially since so many other H2 gremlins have invaded my truck.
Please help.
Thanks

Re: Speedo issue
Quick fix would be turning your engine on and off. Each cycle will reset your speedo by five miles an hour.Do this until your speedo is back to "0".

Re: Speedo issue
Smithy, that did it.
It was quite simple.
It seems like there are alot of gremlins in these trucks.
Now I have the windshield wiper gremlin.

Re: Speedo issue
turning the ingnition on and off will only get it back down to zero, but not keep it there. Every time you drive it will work it's way back up. Need to get it rebuilt, I've had it happen to two of my past H2's.
The wiper thing is an easy fix, just be careful with the clips on the cowl, they are a pain and break easy.

I am probably jinxing myself, but so far so good. I have clocked it against my GPS speedo app and each times comes back on the mark.
So..... Hopefully it was just a gremlin or it wont come back for a while.
