I joined this fourm to get info about the h1. I am very interested in buying one for a toy to go out and have fun with. I have been looking at some web sites and reviews to se what there strengths and weakness are. so far i have read that they are in the shope quite often... If so what are some of the problem areas that they usually have?

Welcome to the forum. I've read about some issues with the H1's, but I'm not really qualified to give you the answers you need since I haven't owned one myself.
Again, welcome.

Hi, I've had nmy dream 2000 H1 for 5 years and it's a matter of maintainance more so than being in the shop. 8000#s on four wheels built for duty and action needs to be maintained properly. There are a lot of little sensor lights and things that trigger action but the same thing happens with my Lamborghini. My H1 is on the front page of Atillathehum.com and they don't even pay me. You'll also find the H1 experts of the world right here on this site if there are any problems. Buy one, feel one, rub one, sit in one, ride one, own one, life is good..

eagereager is correct, with proper maintenance you will have very few problems. Many have stated that the first year or two of ownership is the most expensive because you are fixing everything the previous owner neglected...very true. The HML is a better resource to search archives than here. Also Chuck's site, Fashoffroad.com/ the tech pages (as mentioned above) is a super good place to find out almost everything about these trucks.
where are you located?

Welcome to the world of hummers. Like all autos they need maintanance. no more than most cars or trucks, but if you want to keep everything running smooth it,s best to keep to the shedual. Is it more expensive. well that depends what your used too. If you take it to the local dealer then yes, If you do it your self No. but this will also depend on where you get your spair parts from. for a good idea also look at bluehummer.com. Dave hase a great selection of on hand spairs and he can order anything else you may need direct from hummer.

This is sooo true.
Since I've had my truck over 3 years now, it is mostly basic mainainence and repairing crap that I've broken having fun with the truck, which hasn't been all that much considering the places I've been.
Welcome to the forums.
