Default Fuel Filter Change

Hey team, looking to change my fuel filter on my 03 H2. First of all, where is it? Second of all, is this difficult to change? Is it something I can do myself?

In looking into labor on having someone else do it, it is a waste. I have changed one before in my Jeep before I got rid of it so I am pretty confident I could do it, but I need to know where it is and how difficult this job may be.

If it is too much of a pain in the a** than I may be willing to pay for it. Please fill me in...

On an 03 its right in front of the fuel tank. Not too bad to change just kinda tough to get at

Should look like this from under the truck.

P.S. Release the fuel pressure before removing.

Ya, that is exactly what I thought that was, thanks for clarifying. How do I release the fuel pressure now? Also, after I do change it, is there anything special I need ot do to get the pressure back up besides just revving the gas a bit?

(Thanks big time for the picture. I was under there before posting this post and was pretty sure that is what it was while following the fuel lines, just wanted to make sure I had it right!)

I have always just went to the fuse box and removed the Fuel pump Fuse and ran the truck till it died. Then the pressure was relieved.

Were you able to squeeze the plastic tabs in by hand and remove the line or it took a tool? I have mine ready to be changed.

Is this the same location in an 04 H2? I took the H2 to the local shop to get the filter replaced and they said the fuel filter is in the gas tank. He looked it up in the computer as well.

Correct, 2004 and later model years have a returnless fuel system and has no servicable fuel filter
