You can add my 13 and 15 years old sons to the list of Hummer drivers.
Our 15 years old 6' boy just passed his birthday, we made sure we came home from overseas biz trip just before his birthday. Once you hit 15 means you get ready to drive or learn to drive. We let him drove the Hummer for half an hour on the middle school parking lot on the Venterans Day. Sure enough, the 13 years old boy sat there with envy, why not, after his older brother's run, I gave the younger son the Hummer keys and he had several rounds on the same lot. Both had very steady run on the lot, the younger one had a far more aggressive push, as usual, both thought Hummer was very easy to drive. The first car they drove was a Hummer. Think I better start saving money for the auto insurance premium.

As a 16 year old who learned to drive on his hummer, I have to say there is a good lesson to be learned. Driving a large car at first can prepare any new driver much more so than a conventional car. It is like batting with a donut. If your son can quickly get past the size of the car he will be a fantastic driver. I congradulate him for the privilage. Good luck

Driving is such big deal for kids. I remember driving my dad's old '69 Valient when I was 17 around the parking and felt like the coolest kid in the neighborhood. I could only imagine if my dad had a Vette, T-Bird or Camaro, my favorite cars at the time. Any dad is an unqualified hero to his kids if he has a Hummer.
