Oil Pressure Sensor
does anyone know if any special tools are needed to change the oil pressure sensor sending unit that is located behind the manifold?
I've read conflicting info.... mine is all of a sudden making the gauge go up and down, setting off the oil pressure low warning in the DIC.... which is accompanied by a ding ding ding. Gets very annoying!!

Re: Oil Pressure Sensor
You need J41712 tool.
http://www.autozone.com/repairinfo/r...96b43f8025eccb
Scroll down to 6.0L engine.
Here's the actual tool http://www.ebay.com/itm/KENT-MOORE-O..._Tools&vxp=mtr
You can also use 1 1/16 deep socket.
Goodluck

Re: Oil Pressure Sensor
Thanks!
I wish autozone would have pointed that out when I talked to them.
I'm going to pick up a 1 1/16th socket from Autozone when I grab the sensor tomorrow. Fun stuff.....

Re: Oil Pressure Sensor
Make sure you check the fit of the new sensor to the socket while you're at the store.

Re: Oil Pressure Sensor
1 1/16" deep socket worked fine.
Used a 1/2" swivel on what was probably a 4" extension for a total of about 6".
It's a bit tight, but once you find it and get your method for reaching it's a pretty easy swap.
Thanks for the info citiboy.
